Our DRUNKEN-SAILOR-CREW came together to sing genuine shanty songs in traditional fashion, exactly as our sailor hero's sang.
Years ago upon the high seas every performance we convey our audience back to the good bad old times. Each shanty song has it's own tale to tell in rhythms of life on the ocean waves.
"Tales of fun, tales of sorrow, tales of tomorrow."
Every SHANTYMAN is a leader, not one of us is happy to accept second best. When we step on a stage we are on deck as a crew, five SHANTYMEN bringing almost long lost music back to life for you. Sit back and taste the salt feel the wind in our sales.
As we breathe life into the original shanty songs again respectfully observing the humor and strength of the original "songwriters".
The SHANTYMAN caught the shanty bug in PAIMPOOL / BRITTANY.
For a lot of years now the Shanty crew have sang and sailed through France - Sweden - Germany - Holland and England. Our voices searching for the traditional tones of maritime life.
And so the SHANTY CREW was press gangers into life.
Years later we weighed anchor at the "Festival du Chant du Marine" and various performances followed us on board the VEGESACK BV2. JANTJE also hosted the SHANTYMEN.
We were born in France and were indeed christened by a "DRUNKEN-SAILOR", one of our favorite shanties.
Using Mandolin, Accordion, Guitar and Harmonica, this multi talent crew of 5 will perform a maritime threat of song and rhythm which is "felt" as much as it's heard.
